This test is indicated in all women who have started their sexual life, the Pap test should be done regularly every year, women aged 65 to 70 years with at least three normal Pap tests in the last 10 years may no longer be the test, those women who underwent hysterectomy (surgery to quiet the uterus) total, that is, they removed the cervix and the uterus does not require having this test unless the hysterectomy was part of treatment cancer. Those women who made them hysterectomy, but that they removed the cervix should continue through this test.

Recommendations for Pap test
There are some circumstances that may affect Pap test results, so the doctors suggested that:

* No irrigation practices of the vagina for 48 hours before the test
* Do not have sex 48 hours before the Pap
* Do not use drugs, vaginal foams and creams 48 hours before the study
* It is suggested that the Pap test performed 10 to 20 days after the first day of menstrual period

Many times doctors can not explain why cancer occurs, but there are factors that increase the likelihood of this disease:

* Infection with human papillomavirus (HPV). A virus that infects the cervix and is the main cause of cervical cancer. It is a sexually transmitted infection and can cause cancer or other verrucous lesions called condyloma

* Lack of regular Pap test. Cancer is more common in women who are not reviewed regularly, since this test can detect the presence of human papilloma virus and cancer cells early on to prevent cancer growth.

* Alterations in the immune system (natural defense system of the body). For example, women infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) or medications that lower the body’s defenses.

* Age. Cancer usually occurs in women over 40 years.

* Sexual history. Women who have multiple sexual partners are at increased risk of developing this cancer.

* Smoking. Women with HPV infection and smoking are at increased risk of cancer.

* Use of contraceptives for a long time. Users of oral contraceptives for five years or more and who also have HPV have a higher risk of cancer.

* Number of children.

Definition of Cervical Cancer
The cervix is part of a woman’s reproductive system and is located in the lower part of the uterus. The cancer begins in cells that are a layer of blocks that form tissues and organs that normally divide and regenerate, but many times this process of death of old cells and the birth of new cells fails, which causes the appearance tumors.

Tumors can be benign or malignant. Benign tumors are rarely life threatening, usually do not invade other organs and can be removed without causing other problems. Malignant tumors are cancer that threatens life, these tumors often can be removed by surgery, but may grow back, often invade and damage nearby organs, cells of these tumors can spread (metastasize) to other body parts.

Causes of Cervical Cancer
The cancer is usually caused by sexually transmitted viruses such as human papillomavirus (HPV), although not all types of HPV cause cancer.

The human papilloma virus and cervical cancer. Infection with certain types of HPV can promote changes in cervical cells, some of these changes can lead to cancer if left untreated.

Herbs can help …

One way to get protection from the disease is used daily dressings of exquisite herbs and spices which combines easily with our dishes. Now they are discovering that phytochemicals (phytochemicals) developed in plants, may contain some useful components in the fight against cancer.

Basil: fresh or dried, this aromatic plant was called the “royal herb” by ancient Greeks. Basil combines cooked or raw in many dishes, especially poultry, pasta, seafood. It combines beautifully with tomatoes, other foods recommended. See our recipe of tomatoes with basil.

Black Pepper: Its components phytochemicals appear to interfere with the development of cancer cells. The pepper goes with almost anything. View raw vegetable salad recipe, the zucchini and tomato gratin.

Cumin: A relative of the parsley plant, cumin has a powerful component for cancer, especially liver cancer. Can be used with turmeric (spice of the ginger family, is a bright yellow spice, used widely in Indian cuisine). For pizzas, soups, lasagna, spinach, pasta or lentils.

Garlic is reputed to work miracles. Apart from antioxidant, improves immune function and helps eliminate toxins. It argues that it contains compounds that help prevent heart disease and cancer (especially cancers of the stomach, skin, liver, breast, lung, cervical and nasal). Best if taken raw. Our recipes are the most traditional ingredient (garlic soup, garlic carrier, garlic bread and especially recipes for Garlic Mancha … View more properties and recipes.

Ginger: Another herb with anti-cancer properties. Seca offers some health benefits, but the fresh root grated allow you to make the most of it.

Mint: Recommended especially breast cancer. You can add fresh mint cottage cheese, peas and ham, rice, fruit salad or ice tea. We recommend our recipe for cucumber salad with yogurt and mint. It is also very rich with tea and ice cream.

Onions: These bulbs are widely used in food and Spanish cuisine. All types of onions (white onions, chives, green onions, …) have a very desirable effect against cancer of the gastrointestinal system. Raw or cooked, onions add flavor and significant portions of organosulfur compounds. We propose the potato and onion tortilla and our recipe for tomato and onion salad (Chilean), fried onion rings … The leek is a close relative softer (see recipe Vichyssoise).

Oregano: This versatile herb has at least two bioflavonoids. Flavonoids are a group of polyphenolic compounds, enzymes free radicals snatch their ability before they can cause cellular damage. We propose the original recipe melon gazpacho with lobster to look oregano capitalized. With the cucumber is going well.

Romero: You may also have anti-inflammatory properties and many utilities. In animal studies have shown a great ability to reduce the enzymes that increase the formation of cancer. Our recipe for paella is rosemary. Enrich roast potatoes and combine well with our recipes for lamb stew and chicken with almonds.

Salvia: The name of this ancient herb that comes from the Latin meaning healing reflects their property back, it’s another cancer fighter. Our recipe for chilled avocado soup is exquisite is this herb.

Good spices and better health … Keep them handy in the kitchen or cultivating among their flowers and their containers near you to use every day.

We have suggested their own recipes that contain these herbs or spices as ingredients.
